How certain forces are shaping our world

The poem Time says:
Your life is an expression of your mind.
You are the creator of your own Universe –
For as a human being, you are free to will whatever
state of being you desire through the use of your
thoughts and words.

There has always been a concept that “you are captain of your own ship”. But what does reality say? Are you really the master of your own destiny? Let us ponder all this.

Of late, there have been a number of TV programmes telling us, in awe, that space aliens have visited the earth, that these aliens manipulate humans and that they abduct humans for scientific experiments. Could this be true? Did spacemen visit the earth in ages past?

Just think for a moment – if aliens did visit the earth, what would they have done? Would they have left an alien ‘coke bottle’ behind? No, spacecraft weight would have been far too important, and they would not have carried a disposable bottle. Would they have made themselves very visible by attending a high- profile banquet? No, the risk of sparking riots or antagonism would have been too great; besides, they would no doubt have had politi- cal orders from their planetary superiors not to disturb the local population.

Would they have had the urge to leave an alien graffiti message like “Kilroy was here”? Yes! But they would have been smarter than that; they would have wanted future generations, far into the future (people like us), to see the message.

Did they do this? Maybe! Do we see any evidence? Maybe.

Just look at the Pyramids of Egypt. The Great Pyramids of Giza are built lined north–south to an accuracy of a few seconds of arc; in other words, built more accurate than a room in a modern house! The slope of the pyramid sides is just as accurate. I have been there myself, and stood and wondered: Who gave the order to build this accurately, bearing in mind the added cost? Why did he care? There must have been a huge motivation.

Only modern science can detect this accuracy. Certainly, when Napoleon’s troops visited Egypt in 1798, they did not realise it, nor did anyone else until very recently. Napoleon carried with him an extensive team of scientists to document a whole array of scientific issues of interest. Could this pyramid accuracy itself be a message left for people with silicon microchips and computers to find? Well, I can believe this to be possible – and I am a nuclear physicist; I am not a mystic who beats drums and chants to the full moon at midnight. Besides, our earthling scientists are right now trying to talk to aliens by sending messages out by radio dish and by putting messages into spacecraft, in case some green guy with horns finds them. If we think that aliens are, perhaps, out there now, why could they not have been out there during the era when the pharaohs ruled? Why could aliens not have visited here when the pharaohs ruled? Certainly, the facts do not exclude this possibility.

We now have to ask: Are there large world forces controlling your life?

The answer is ‘yes’ – the South African Revenue Service is one.

Okay, before we pursue this concept of world forces, let me jump from science to economics, which is like the weather – there are interdependent forces that work with and against each other, resulting in large-scale systems. If it becomes cold, and the air is moisture laden, then it could well rain, particularly if an updraft pushes the air into a colder layer. A large rainstorm produces temperature changes. These cause the winds to blow . . . winds move clouds, and so we go.

The laws of economics can be compared to the laws of physics (to some degree). People are the major part of the economic system – they react in economic blocs. Economics is not actually about money; it is about economic forces. What people want and do are the primary forces of the economics weather pattern. The threat of war in Iraq caused the gold price to rise. That was a ‘people’ response on the stock exchange.

There are two types of people in the world: those who divide people into two types, and those who do not. I am one of the latter.

Let us rather divide people into three types: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder ‘what happened’.

Some people are making things happen. Who are they? Is this phenomenon happening on a national scale, and also on a world scale? Yes. Do I believe that there is a world secret power, a secret society, such as the Illuminati? Who were the Illuminati? They were founded in 1766 by Adam Weishaupt, and are also sometimes known as the Moriah Conquering Wind, and they believed that they were the designated rulers of the planet. Well, I do not believe in a world power like the Illuminati.

But, certainly, the answer to the question about the existence of big forces in some countries and some societies is a resounding ‘Yes!’ I am not talking of the obvious force of the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein or of the more invisible force of the secret police of dictatorship countries – I am talking of a more subtle working together of powerful people.

But do some powerful people act together? Yes. Why?

• Because they need to; for example, the people who make cars, petrol and tyres. They all have a reasonably common purpose.

• Because they read the same economic weather . . . and, like a good weather forecaster, they come to the same conclusions. People know that the gold price usually goes up when unrest looms; so, before the Iraqi war, they all went to buy gold and the price went up.

They did not discuss this action amongst themselves. Nevertheless, they did all do it at about the same time. So, the result was a collective action.

Some governments, organisations and even individuals at times think that they can control the economic weather. They try to force economic results or patterns.

This is like trying to squeeze jelly with your hands – it shoots out of the gaps, because you cannot control all the gaps.

It is not possible to control an economy, but you can certainly exert certain ‘deflections’. This is like building a sand bank in front of flowing water – you will deflect the water in a general direction, but you do not know exactly where it will go after the deflection. The result might not be exactly what you want.

The economic weather is also a function of science – look at how the cellphone and the Internet changed business. These developments added a speed dimension to business communication. This can all appear to be some conspiracy of technology developers who are manipulating business to buy their goods.

Overall, what I am saying is that I do not believe in a world conspiracy of people with dubious intentions – like the Illuminati. But what, undoubtedly, is happening is that certain ‘forces’ are operating on a large scale, but this is because independent groups of people come to the same conclusions, and then take similar actions. This pattern of events is all enhanced by science, because modern communications and the interconnection of knowledge ensure that information, ideas and decisions spread across the country and around the world very fast.

The poem Time also says:

Realise that the one thing you have absolute
control over is your attitude.

See the effect that it has on those around you.
For each life is linked to all life
and your words carry with them chain reactions
like a stone that is thrown into a pond.
