Company Announcement - The GECI International Group announces the acquisition of the EOLEN Group, an engineering consulting company specialising in advanced technologies. This move will provide GECI International with added impetus to develop its market position in France and internationally, including South Africa, while increasing its expertise in high added value market sectors. GECI International has been active in South Africa since 1982, particularly in the energy and aerospace sectors. The company provided resources for the licencing of Eskom’s Koeberg nuclear power facility where it is still actively providing services. GECI also provided resources and services for the design and construction of a number of South African developed aircraft including the Carver, Oryx, Cheetah and Rooivalk.

“We have a long and impressive history with South African companies” says GECI International CEO Serge Bitboul, “and we are confident that we can offer an even stronger offering now in support of South Africa’s infrastructural growth initiatives.” Established in 2006, the EOLEN Group is a French consulting company specialising, like GECI, in advanced technologies, infrastructure, applied design and construction, information technology, and project management.

The EOLEN Group adds another 350 professionals to GECI’s international resource pool, as well as bringing a solid base of existing business, predominantly in large accounts in the telecommunications, multimedia, financial services, energy and aerospace sectors. This acquisition is an important first step in the implementation of the GECI International strategic plan. It supports GECI International to significantly augment its activities in France and in Brazil in particular, where EOLEN is already based, but also in other traditional GECI markets such as South Africa and Asia.

GECI International also draws on a technical pool that already includes highly skilled engineers in its Indian company AeroEuro as well as an impressive line-up of international partners.

The skills of the EOLEN Group also allows GECI International to diversify its offerings into the telecommunications, multimedia and finance sectors as well as cross-sector IT and e-learning services and high-performance tools.
