The project entails the construction of the world’s largest commercial biomass plant in Ghent.

The plant will produce 215 MW of electricity, using wood chips and agroresidues as feedstock.

The project will cost about €315-million to implement.

The project is expected to come on line in 2017.

Latest Developments
Abengoa has been awarded the construction contract for the project.

The company will be responsible for the engineering, design and construction of the plant.
