JSE-listed Aveng has appointed McDermott International commercial senior VP Scott Cummins as CEO of its Asia and the Pacific subsidiary McConnell Dowell, effective October 1.

Cummins would succeed outgoing CEO David Robinson, who was retiring this year, but would remain available to the company in a consulting role to assist with the commercial resolution of outstanding claims.

Aveng CEO Kobus Verster said the appointment followed a comprehensive internal and external executive search for candidates.

“I am confident that Cummins will lead McConnell Dowell in sustaining its record in its anchor market, Australia, while helping us realise the full potential of its international operations,” he said.

Cummins’ previous positions included executive VP offshore, senior VP and Asia Pacific GM.
