JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Operations at JSE-listed Northam Platinum’s Zondereinde mine, in Limpopo, have been halted following the death of a worker and the injury of another during a fall-of-ground incident on Monday.

The company indicated that the mine would be closed pending a joint investigation by the Mineral Resources Department, mine management and organised labour into the cause of the accident.

Northam further stated that the survivor was receiving treatment in hospital and was currently in a stable condition.
