Water department appoints new DG

Dan Metlana Mashitisho has been appointed director-general of the Department of Water and Sanitation, effective January 3.

His most recent employment was at Mogale City municipality where he served as the city manager, a position he held since 2006. Mashitisho served in the same capacity at Merafong local municipality and has held numerous positions in local government over the past 22 years.

“We wish him well in his new role and we are confident that he will continue the efforts towards good governance and improved access to water and dignified sanitation,” commented Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane.
