Western Cape Economic Opportunities Minister Alan Winde has appointed three new members – Sipho Nzuza, Ashraf Ameen and Wendy Appelbaum – to the Wesgro board.

Nzuza is port manager at Transnet National Ports Authority’s Port of Cape Town. Ameen and Appelbaum are both entrepreneurs.

“As our destination marketing agency, Wesgro’s key goals are boosting tourism and exports and increasing inward investment. I am confident that the newest members of the board have the attributes and experience needed to ensure Wesgro delivers on these objectives,” said Winde.

Wesgro CEO Tim Harris noted that the combined experience of the three members in tourism, logistics and business made them a perfect fit for the Wesgro board.

“The diverse skills and experience that the new members bring to the board will help Wesgro position the Cape as a hub for interregional business and a world-class tourism destination.”

The Wesgro board’s term ends in 2017.
