Swedish lubrication systems company SKF has been approved by the relevant authorities to take over South Africa-based lubrication system suppliers Lincoln Lubricants.

The Gothenburg-based company’s transaction is considered to be complete and it now oper-ates across 130 countries and has included Lincoln Lubricants as one of its more than 15 000 distribution channels.

According to SKF South Africa MD Ian Cillié, the acquisition will provide a good partnership between the companies and is an integral part of SKF’s growth strategy in Africa.

“The agreement is a perfect fit and part of a natural progression that will take our lubrication offering to another level,” he says.

Lincoln Lubricants, which moved to new premises in 2013, remains a key supplier of lubrication products such as Pressol, Reelize and FMT Switzerland. Lincoln’s larger 2 000 m² warehouse and 800 m² office area in Germiston have allowed the company to stream- line service and reduce turn-around time.

One of the key products which will now be distributed under the SKF-Lincoln banner is Fast Fill systems, a dry-break fluid delivery solution for the mining, heavy construction and forestry industries.

Lincoln Lubricants, a company that has influenced the South African market for 22 years, is also known for its expertise in the consulting and system planning, installation, maintenance and repairs and training fields.
