Samphire (Blackbush deposit) project is a globally competitive, low-cost uranium operation using in situ recovery.

Life-of-mine production is estimated at 12.3-million pounds of uranium of 12 years, with production estimated at 1.2-million pounds of uranium a year.

Net Present Value/Internal Rate of Return
The project has an after-tax net present value, at an 8% discount rate, of A$257-million, and an internal rate of return of 42%, with a payback of 2.45 years from the start of production.

Capital Expenditure
A$131-million.

Planned Start/End Date
The project has a production period of 18 months.

Latest Developments
Alligator Energy has reported that its planned 2024 field recovery trial will assist in further derisking and optimising the technical aspect of the project. The start of the field recovery trial will likely start in mid-2024, subject to receiving all approvals.

In addition, several optimisation studies – water, power, roads, product transport and logistics, as well as lowering emission, environment and social impacts – are to be concluded before the start of a feasibility study targeted for the second half of 2024.
