Power distribution system supplier Magnet Group has expanded on its Carlo Gavazzi range by introducing multichannel power analyser and automation products.

These include WM50 multi-channel power analysers, which efficiently measure main electrical variables as well as voltage and current harmonic distortions. This takes place within a three or single-phase system.

Magnet Johannesburg regional manager Stephen Rogerson states that this flexible device is able to view total and partial active and reactive energy consumption, up to three water, gas and heat totalisers, and up to six different energy consumption tariffs. He further notes that this system, which provides up to 16 alarms, can be integrated with accessory modules to expand its control and communication capacity. It includes a digital analogue input and output module within the communication module.

The device manages three analogue inputs and six digital inputs and digital outputs through an optional accessory module. This system is able to transmit data to other systems and is also used to log measurements and events.

The WM50 device is designed for quick configuration and easy installation. Detachable terminals connect to 12-channel current sensors supplied with proprietary cables and sensors clips which will ensure efficient operation at all times.

The backlight-emitting diode display clearly shows single and total load measurements, as well as configuration parameter values. Digital communication between current sensors and the WM50 device ensure excellent disturbance immunity.

Magnet’s range of Carlo Gavazzi automation products includes energy-management solutions, energy meters, current transformers and energy efficiency monitoring solutions, as well as the VMU range of integrated Web server solutions.

These automation systems are suitable for use in diverse industries
