Effective from May, project management consulting and training firm Project Management Solutions (PM Solutions), which is dedicated to helping organisations drive performance and operational efficiency, appointed project management professional (PMP) Dr Al Zeitoun as president of PM Solutions.

Zeitoun replaced PM Solutions founding president PMP, non-profit organisation Project Management Institute fellow and Project Management Association (PMA) fellow J Kent Crawford. Zeitoun is responsible for the PM Solutions consulting, training, and research. He reports directly to PM Solutions co-CEO and cofounder and PMP, PMA fellow Deborah Crawford.

“This is an exciting time for PM Solutions. In conjunction with celebrating PM Solutions’ twentieth anniversary, we welcome Zeitoun’s experience and leadership to our team. Zeitoun’s global influence and renowned thought leadership will be wonderful assets added to the more than two decades of experience we bring to our clients,” says Crawford.

With a wealth of strategy execution, global project and portfolio management experiences, Zeitoun joined PM Solutions from nuclear energy company Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) working from the corporate project management office as the executive director for Abu Dhabi, in United Arab Emirates, where he was responsible for creating the structure and discipline necessary for delivering one of the largest projects in the Middle East.

Prior to working at ENEC, Zeitoun strategically envisioned management consultant Booz Allen Hamilton’s advisory, with a focus on customising the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) playbooks and mapping the relevant capability development for clients strategic initiatives. He led Booz Allen Hamilton’s Middle East North Africa portfolio management solutions as part of the leadership team that restarted its global footprint. He also served as Booz Allen Hamilton’s representative on PMI’s Global Executive Council.

While working with the International Institute of Learning (IIL), he was a senior executive and also held the position of chief projects officer. He was instrumental in driving thought leadership and project management methodology execution across organisations worldwide. Zeitoun directly contributed to IIL’s successful global business growth. He ensured quality portfolio and project management service delivery exceeding global C-suites’ expectations.

“I am thrilled to lead a team of talented and innovative business transformation and strategy delivery experts. Together, we will drive a renewed focus on sustaining and enhancing PM Solutions excellence, and taking on their most complex and impactful missions. We are prepared to deliver unique and integrated solutions allowing our global clients continuous realisation of measurable benefits,” he notes.

Zeitoun holds PhD, MSc, and BSc degrees in civil engineering and construction management from the US and Egypt. In addition, he received a diploma in project management from the University of Bremen, Germany. He is a certified PMP and currently serves on the PMI board of directors, where he has previously chaired the board nominating committee and volunteer appointment committee.

“PM Solutions is trusted by top organisations around the world and well-known for the organisational improvements we bring about for our clients. With Zeitoun on board, we’ll be able to extend that reach and positively impact on our clients across all industries worldwide,” says Crawford.

For more than 20 years, PM Solutions has been helping clients drive business value through improved project management capability. Comprehensive offerings provided by PM Solutions include PPM process improvement, project management transformation, programme and project management resources, corporate training and competency development delivered through its training division PM College.

It serves a diverse client base that includes some of the world’s leading organisations in industries such as manufacturing, information technology, energy, insurance and financial services.
