Global manufacturer of thermal-processing equipment Thermal Product Solutions (TPS) in July announced the shipment of a custom Gruenberg bench oven to the movable machinery industry.

The bench oven is rated for Class B operation in accordance with the NFPA 86 specifications.

This bench oven will be used in the customer’s testing and product development department to process various mechanical apparatus affixed to a Ling Dynamic Electronic Shaker. The maximum temperature rating of the Class B oven is 550 ºC (1 022 ºF) and the work chamber dimensions are 36" wide x 36" in diameter × 36" high.

This Gruenberg custom bench oven is constructed from a structural steel frame that supports the fully welded 304 ℓ stainless steel chamber liner and the exterior sheet metal. All interconnecting struts are noncontinuous which keeps the exterior cool.

The Gruenberg custom bench oven features one belt driven circulation fan in a conditioning plenum chamber in the rear of the oven. This fan directs air through diffusor panels on both sides of the work chamber and flows horizontally across the product. The air exits the work chamber on the rear wall back to the heaters for reheating and recirculation.

“Our design team customised this bench oven to accommodate the customer’s equipment through an opening in the oven bottom. At TPS, we pride ourselves on our ability to customise equipment to meet our customers’ requirements,” says Gruenberg product manager Denny Mendler.

Unique features of this Gruenberg cabinet oven include a single set-point temperature controller; a high limit controller to prevent overheating; SCR power control; a door switch; a bearing cooling blower; a 34" × 34" opening in the oven bottom to accommodate the Ling Dynamic Shaker; and a compound horizontal airflow to maximise heating rates.

Technology Industry Supply

TPS also announced in June the shipment of a Gruenberg truck-in-oven to the technology industry. The oven is rated for Class A operation to handle processing solvents with the NFPA 86 specifications.

This Gruenberg unitised oven has a maximum temperature rating of 650 ºF and work chamber dimensions of 144" wide x 84" in diameter × 72" high. The Gruenberg oven is comprised of two compartments separated by an 8" centre mullion, constructed from a structural steel frame that supports the 304 stainless steel chamber liner and the exterior sheet metal. All interconnecting struts are noncontinuous which keeps the exterior cool.

This truck-in oven utilises horizontal airflow which maximises heating rates and temperature uniformity of the product load. Two circulation blowers with variable frequency drives are in a conditioning plenum chamber on the top of the oven. These blowers direct air through a diffuser panel to flow horizontally across the product. The air exits the work chamber on the opposite side duct wall back to the heaters for reheating and recirculation.

“Gruenberg products are designed to meet the highest standards of safety specifications. This truck-in oven required a Class A rating to safely remove solvents released during the heating process,” says Mendler.

Unique features of this Gruenberg truck-in oven include Allen Bradley programmable logic controller (PLC) and human-machine interface; high limit controller to prevent overheating; pneumatic door locks; silicon control rectifier (SCR) power control; UL508A control panels; a main power disconnect switch; Class A with nonsparking air movers; HEPA filtration of incoming, recirculation and exhaust air; horizontal airflow to maximise heating rates; and a temperature uniformity of +/– 10 ºF at an operating temperature of 575 ºF.

Government Agency Supply

In other oven supply news, TPS in April announced the shipment of a Gruenberg truck-in-oven to a government agency.

The Class A oven will process up to 0.75 ℓ of solvent an hour.

The maximum temperature rating of the Class A oven is 500 ºF and the work chamber dimensions are 95" wide × 140" in diameter × 80" high. The Gruenberg truck-in oven is constructed from a structural steel frame that supports the aluminised steel chamber liner and the exterior sheet metal. All interconnecting struts are noncontinuous which keeps the exterior cool.

This Gruenberg truck-in oven features one circulation fan with a variable frequency drive in a conditioning plenum chamber in the rear of the oven. The fan directs air through diffusor panels on both sides of the work chamber and flows horizontally across the product. The air exits the work chamber on the rear wall back to the heaters for reheating and recirculation.

“Uniform heating of a product load is critical to ensure the highest end part quality. To maximise heating rates and temperature uniformity of the product load, this truck-in oven is equipped with a compound horizontal airflow heat system,” said Mendler.

Unique features of this Gruenberg truck-in oven include a PLC; a 10" diameter circular chart; a high limit controller to prevent overheating; an SCR power control; a quartz run hour meter; a remote mount control panel; UL508A control panels; Nationally Recognised Testing Laboratory certification; a main power disconnect switch; a Class A design with nonsparking air movers; and a compound horizontal airflow to maximise heating rates.

Gruenberg, a division of TPS, designs and manufactures a comprehensive line of standard and custom industrial batch and conveyor ovens that accommodate temperatures up to 1 200 ºF. Gruenberg products are known for their durability, innovation, and high-quality performance. Additional products offered by Gruenberg include custom pharmaceutical ovens, depyrogenation ovens, granulation dryers, pharmaceutical sterilisers, and lab animal science sterilisers.
