On-line pumps supplier and consumer information company PumpScout reports that it is growing at record pace in 2013, acquiring dozens of new clients and attracting to its website thousands of professionals looking for high-quality pumps.

The on-line service delivers leads to pump manufacturers and empowers end-users to choose the right pump for their applications, says the company.

“I am so proud of what our team has accomplished so far this year. Pump buyers consistently tell us how valuable our service and tools are for their jobs, and our manufacturing clients consider us one of the most effective services available for driving new business,” says PumpScout CEO Justin Johnson.

The US-based company has signed 22 new clients, including pumps industry leaders such as Price Pump, Wilden, Yamada, Ebsray, Mouvex and Ebara. The PumpScout supplier directory now represents nearly every pump type across numerous industrial applications.

PumpScout expects its growth to continue through the end of this year and into 2014 as the company informs and connects pump buyers with the right suppliers and provides its partners with the best prequalified sales leads available.

PumpScout has witnessed a spike in its Web traffic, which has increased by 800% since the beginning of the year. The quality of service of PumpScout suppliers, combined with the extensive information and content available on the site, attracts thousands of potential pump buyers. The site’s users range from small farmers and engineers for Fortune 500 companies to maintenance professionals for municipal wastewater facilities.

The website features more than 180 pumps suppliers and their product lines, as well as con- sumer information, tools and tips on buying and maintaining all types of industrial pumps. PumpScout is currently expanding into other vertical markets, says the company’s website.

“We’re excited because we know that the growth of the company and the more buyers we help [will]ultimately lead to more revenue for our partners,” notes Johnson.

Parent company Scout Hub is also gearing up to release a new product, LeadMethod, this year. The new lead management tool will provide a competitive edge for PumpScout customers and others in the industrial space wanting to convert more of their leads into sales.

Meanwhile, PumpScout announced its strategic partnership with self-priming rotary positive displacement ball type pumps manufacturer Granco Manufacturing on September 11.

Granco pumps are used for applications in the petroleum, industrial, speciality chemicals and food products industries.

“Granco pumps has provided customers with durable, versatile and dependable pumps since 1938. “The company’s rotary positive displacement ball pump is an excellent technology for transfer applications. “PumpScout looks forward to recommending its products to our clients,” says Johnson.

Granco Manufacturing’s full line of pumps can be used in various applications and offers customers flexibility of operation. The pump design includes a floating rotor, which is pivoted in the spherical housing. With only one moving part and zero metal-to-metal contact, the Granco ball type pump is one of the simplest and most dependable pumps available, says the company. Further, Granco Manufac- turing notes, it offers increased volumetric efficiency, decreased power consumption, decreased maintenance costs, easier installation and easier reversibility than other positive displacement pumps.

“PumpScout is a great way to introduce Granco pumps to a myriad of potential pump buyers. Each PumpScout inquiry has provided us with accurate data regarding the pump specifications so we can quickly send the customer an accurate quotation for his application. “This is a great resource for pump companies and their distributors to expand their customer base and increase revenues,” says Granco Manufacturing president Ivan Dimcheff.

Granco pumps can handle flow rates ranging from 5 gal/m to more than 300 gal/m, viscosities ranging from 32 Saybolt seconds universal (ssu) to more than one-million ssu, and pressures up to 225 pounds a square inch when external relief valves are used. All Granco pumps are available in a two- or four-port design and feature mechanical seals when necessitated by the pumping application.

The pump design is easily modified to accommodate electric motor drives, gas engine drives, hydraulic motor drives or belt drives, and can be either truck-mounted or stationary. Additionally, the basic Granco pump is capable of handling thin fluids to the most viscous fluids without requiring a new design. The result is a long-lasting, durable and versatile pump that is suitable for a broad range of applications, notes PumpScout.

“PumpScout is a great tool that brings today’s marketing and technology to a mature indus- try, and helps bring in leads that would otherwise have been missed,” says Granco Manufac- turing COO Mike Alessandro.

Granco Manufacturing was founded by Edwin Grandburg, who designed and developed the rotary positive displacement pump that the company still sells today. The pumps are manufactured in the US and installed worldwide.
