Nutritional Foods (N Foods) manufactures and distributes a range of staple, fortified dry food products and catering ingredients to the industrial catering market, including fortified maize- based porridges, soya mince, powdered soft drinks and isotonic drinks, as well as gravies, spices and coatings. It also produces milk powder blends and creamers.

Further, N Foods’ new ‘twin pouch’ meal replacement solution is one of the company’s latest product lines created to service heavy industry and the mining sector.

N Foods’ 8 000 m2 factory, located in Klerksdorp, in the North West, houses two twin-screw extrusion lines for maize and textured vegetable protein, various blending lines for sweet and savoury, as well as a comprehensive range of packaging solutions, from 50 kg bulk bags to 30 g single- serving sachets.

The original N Foods business was established in 1947 and was owned and operated by Tongaat Milling until the mid-1990s. The business was acquired by Nutritional Holdings in 2007 and subsequently listed on the JSE.

With a staff complement of 75 and a turnover of R33-million in the 2014/15 financial year, N Foods is ISO 22000-accredited and is compliant with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point standards, as well as Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
