Construction group Murray & Roberts on Wednesday said it had entered into a settlement agreement with the Competition Commission regarding the commission’s fast-track settlement investigations into historical anticompetitive practices in the construction industry.

The fast-track process was launched in 2011.

The firm indicated that the commission would announce its findings in due course, adding that the company would only announce the settlement amount - which was marginally different from what was provided for by the company - once it received authorisation by the commission to do so.

The commission would refer the settlement to the Competition Tribunal and if the tribunal confirmed it, it would be a full and final settlement of all alleged collusive conduct.
