JSE-listed Illovo Sugar has appointed Trevor Munday its new chairperson, effective on the close of the sugar producer’s annual general meeting (AGM) on July 15.

He would succeed Don MacLoed, who would retire as director and chairperson of Illovo at this time.

Munday had served on the Illovo board as an independent, nonexecutive director since March 9, 2010, and was a member of all its board committees. He was currently also the chairperson of electronics and electrical group Reunert and lead independent director of Barclays Africa and Absa Bank.
