Project Description
The 111 MW Gibson Bay wind farm, planned for the Kouga municipality of the Eastern Cape, has been appointed as a preferred bidder, following the conclusion of the third bid-submission round under the Department of Energy’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme in October 2013. Once commissioned, the 37-turbine project will generate more than 424 GWh/y.

The project is expected to enter commercial operation in early 2017.
