Name and Location
Gbaran-Ubie integrated oil and gas project, Niger delta, Nigeria.

Project Description
The project involves the integrated development of five oil- and gasfields spread across a 650 km2 area in Bayelsa, at the core of the Niger delta region. The project consists of 33 production wells and has an on-site central processing facility for oil and gas treatment.

At full production, the project is expected to produce about one-billion standard cubic metres of gas a day and more than 70 000 bbl/d of oil.

The gas processing unit is currently producing 200-million cubic metres of gas a day from the first two wells. The bulk of the gas is supplied to the Nigeria liquefied natural gas plant, at Bonny Island, where it is cooled and converted into liquid fuel for export around the world. The balance is for the local power station in the Niger delta region.

The oil will be exported to the Bonny crude oil terminal. A considerable amount of gas will also be distributed to the Bayelsa state power plant, at Imiringi, and to a new 225 MW power station being built in Gbaran for power generation.
