The planned strike by Gautrain train drivers has been cancelled, the Bombela Concession Company said on Sunday.

"We are pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached in the wage negotiations... As a result of this agreement the strike notice... has been withdrawn and all Gautrain services will continue to operate normally," Bombela operations executive Errol Braithwaite said in a statement.

Gautrain train drivers and some station staff belonging to the United Transport and Allied Trade Union (Utata) had planned to go on strike on Monday.
