Free energy solutions training grows green entrepreneurs
Energy management solutions provider Schneider Electric announced earlier this month that it would provide free monthly training on its access-to-energy solutions for learners at the Electrical Contractors Association of South Africa’s (ECA’s) training facilities nationwide.
The modules being taught by Schneider Electric specialists encompass the operation and installation of the company’s renewable-energy products, as well as the concepts an entrepreneur should muster.
The theoretical and practical training aims to provide learners with the skills and confidence to start their own informal business by identifying opportunities to create access to renewable energy in their communities.
ECA regional training manager George Senekal says Schneider Electric’s joint venture training programme with the ECA exposes learners to contemporary global energy-saving techniques and discusses the basic principles of solar energy generation. “Only after a session do our candidates have a sound understanding of the meaning of solar energy generation.”
Candidates are also trained to be success-ful entrepreneurs in basic solar energy distri-bution, with “ . . . the understanding of current . . . and future technology well presented by the Schneider Electric training staff”. Senekal says, adding that the ECA is looking forward to advancing the course and providing more practical training.
“Our industry is represented by our learners and more specific training techniques will ensure better knowledge and implementation of renewable-energy resources,” he concludes.
