Security specialist highly recommends that enterprises focus on five fundamental areas of an Advanced Threat Protection Framework Fortinet®  - a leader in high-performance network security will focus on Advanced Threat Protection as part of its solution portfolio at the Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference - the Middle East’s essential IT Security Knowledge Platform.

“Looking at the various data breach incidents that made the news in 2013 and so far in 2014, it’s clear that sophisticated threats continue to beat traditional defenses,” says Alain Penel, Regional Vice President - Middle East, Fortinet. “Addressing these threats is top of mind for CIOs across the region. With the recent release of FortiOs 5.2, which incorporates numerous innovations that strengthen our Advanced Threat Protection Framework, coupled with the latest next generation firewall, FortiGate-1500D, we are set to deliver unparalleled threat prevention and performance in a flexible appliance form factor to further meet enterprises’ requirements.”

During GISEC 2014, Fortinet will present its’ solution to combat these sophisticated threats. The presentation “Do not put your head in the Sandbox” will be given on June 9th and 10th.

Elaborating on the subject, Penel says, “There are many new approaches to detecting and mitigating the seemingly inevitable breaches that have gained growing attention, including Sandboxing. However, it is only one part of a coordinated security effort to combat attacks. Often companies think deploying “Sandboxing" technology will stop Advanced Persistent Threats. While this technology is important, it is only a single element of the Advanced Threat Protection solution. Sandboxing deployments must be integrated with other threat protection capabilities in a continuous cycle of inspection, detection, containment and analysis. We will be talking about this in more detail during our sessions.”

Fortinet is located at stand SM – A40, and visitors can view animated demonstrations on Advanced Threat Protections, High-Performance Data Centers, and Secure Unified Access. GISEC runs from June 9-11 at the Dubai World Trade and Convention Center.
