Oil and gas exploration and production company Erin Energy Corporation has started drilling of the Oyo-9 well, offshore Nigeria.

The well is being drilled with the Pacific Bora sixth-generation drilling rig and is expected to take about 62 days to complete.

The tie-in of the well to the floating production, storage and offloading unit, to allow for the start of production will be completed in the latter part of the fourth quarter of this year.

The well is expected to add an additional 6 000 bbl/d to 7 000 bbl/d of oil to the field’s current production.
