Environment-friendly lighting technology launched

supplier GlacialLight, a divi- sion of Taiwanese technology manufac-turer GlacialTech, announced in January the addition of the GL-FL30S-V2, a 28 W alternating current- (ac-) input light-emitting diode (LED) floodlight with Philips Lumileds LED chips and a pas- sive infrared (PIR) motion sensor, to its popular range of energy efficient LED lighting products.

This lightweight GL-FL30S-V2 flood-light weighs 1.4 kg and provides bright and pleasing illumination suitable for indoor and outdoor retail, commercial and industrial external lighting applications. When installed at an ideal height of between 1.8 m and 2.5 m, it is a suitable lighting solution for indoor car parks, private driveways and public spaces such as hallways, GlacialLight reports.

The PIR motion sensor of the GL-FL30S-V2 lowers energy bills and reduces light pollution by preventing unnecessary use of lighting and power. The 180° sensor and its reaction time of 0.6 m/s to 1.5 m/s ensures that the floodlight switches on immediately when movement is detected, the company adds.

The GL-FL30S-V2 PIR sensor can be adjusted to detect motion from 3 lux to 2 000 lux, making it ideal for use during the day and at night. The range of motion sen-sitivity can also be modified from 5 m to 12 m, enabling the sensor to be used in both small and large spaces. The duration of illumination time is also adjustable, from ten seconds to seven minutes.

Two colour variants of the GL-FL30S-V2 lighting technology are available. The GL-FL30S-V2-CW provides a 5 700 K cool white beam with a colour rendering index (CRI) of 70 and the GL-FL30S-V2-WW illuminates with a 3 000 K warm white beam and a CRI of 85.

Both color versions have an input voltage range of 100 V to 240 V ac and are avail- able with either a 30° or 60° beam angle.

With the environment in mind, GlacialLight designed the GL-FL30S-V2 floodlight to contain no hazardous chemicals, such as mercury, and to create no harmful radiation emissions, such as ultraviolet rays or infrared radiation, making the lighting solutions more eco-friendly than traditional lighting.

This ac-input floodlight is also more ecofriendly, compared with traditional lighting products, because of its lower power consumption and the greater amount of light produced, GlacialLight concludes.
