Economic resilience encouraged
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has emphasised the urgent need for South Africa to break the ongoing deadlock on the regulation and transformation of the mining sector, while United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has warned that, without policy change, commodity-dependent developing countries risk falling short of achieving their sustainable development goals.
Mining Weekly editor Martin Creamer joins senior deputy editor Tracy Hancock in studio to discuss these statements, as well as Glencore’s focus on its sustainably low-cost and long-life first-tier industrial assets.
