Company Announcement - Cortec® Corporation, the global leader in innovative corrosion protection solutions, is now offering VpCI®-280 - a fast drying, solvent based alkyd topcoat that is sure to put the finishing touch on any product or project. VpCI®-280 has excellent UV resistance, which allows for great color and gloss retention; and can even be matched to most custom colors!

Cortec’s VpCI®-280 fast drying topcoat was created to help you quickly protect your assets with an innovative corrosion protection solution where the main focus is time management. When applying coatings in unsheltered areas where wind, weather, and bugs are a concern, the dry time becomes extremely important. VpCI®-280 was developed as a versatile, industrial finishing enamel for manufacturers of metal products. This enamel offers a quick dry time, high gloss, and good color and gloss retention. It is ideal for industrial OEM uses, including agricultural and construction equipment. Regulatory benefits include very low levels of VOC and Hazardous Air Pollutant Solvents.

This one coat system can be applied DTM (direct to metal) and provides protection in harsh, outdoor, unsheltered applications. The complex mixture of non-toxic, organic inhibitors offers protection that competes with most paints and zinc-rich primers.

The surface expectancy of a coating is primarily dependent upon good surface preparation. The surface to be coated should be free of mill scale, rust, oil, and other contaminates including salt deposits. This enamel may be applied over steel and other properly prepared substrates. It may be used for one-coat, direct to metal applications; however, a primer is required for long-term corrosion protection.

VpCI®-280 utilizes Cortec’s patented Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibiting (VpCI®) Technology. VpCI® Technology is an innovative, environmentally safe, cost-effective option for corrosion protection. Cortec® products protect with a thin, monomolecular protective barrier. The barrier re-heals and self-replenishes, and can be combined with other functional properties for add ed protective capabilities. VpCI® forms a physical bond on the metal surface creating a barrier layer against aggressive ions.
