Dear

The recent postal strike caused disruption to a portion of our circulation in recent weeks.  As a result, we have had to make changes regarding our distribution platforms to ensure that we continue to deliver our weekly magazines in a timely and efficient manner.  I would like to give you a brief outline of these changes.

We contracted with two alternative distributors to hand deliver our magazines and are in the process of converting all our subscribers to this new system,.    In addition to contracting with these distributors, we will continue to distribute our magazines through retail outlets, including CNA and Exclusive Books stores, and will continue to issue bulk deliveries to large corporations, who are also paid-for subscribers.   In addition, all of our subscribers also receive an email every Friday, providing them with a link to a PDF e-magazine version of the week's magazine. Click here for an example.

Furthermore, the Engineering News and Mining Weekly issues dated November 7 and onwards have been distributed at OR Tambo International Airport, Lanseria International Airport, Cape Town International Airport, King Shaka International Airport as well as at 5-star hotels in Gauteng, Durban and Cape Town.

Our airport and hotel distribution is carefully controlled, with specified quantities of magazines distributed through all major airport lounges and other locations throughout the airports and hotels.   We are also providing copies to South African Airways, which are available on board regional SAA flights.

Attached, please find an outline of some of the distribution points as well as a few photos of our magazines in business lounges at the airports.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

We would like to encourage business travellers to become weekly readers of Engineering News and Mining Weekly and we have therefore developed an airport and hotel sponsorship package whereby companies are given the opportunity to sponsor one-year subscriptions to Engineering News and Mining Weekly.  A 4-page leaflet will be stitched into the centre of the full airport and hotel distribution.  This leaflet will inform the reader of a free subscription “bought by Company X”.  The only thing the reader has to do in order to secure their annual subscription is to be in contact with Creamer Media either via SMS or email.

With an investment of between R7 800 and R12 800 a week (depending on frequency) sponsoring companies will receive branding on all 4 pages of the insert, that is, 1 full-page advertisement and logos and mentions on the three remaining pages, as well as 5 subscriptions to Engineering News and Mining Weekly for the advertiser.

Material:

The insert will have a basic template that will be followed.  The advertiser, however, will have a degree of design input, such as the background colour of the first three pages as well as the right to fully-design the fourth page.  If the client chooses not to follow the template the client could provide the design for the 4 pages or Creamer Media could produce an alternative design at normal production rates.

Deadlines:

  • If the client follows the template:  at least 3 weeks before the insertion date.
  • If the client provides alternative material:  at least 6 weeks before the insertion date.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding our distribution channels or the new airport sponsorship opportunity.

Regards
