Cesa CEO 'unexpectedly' resigns
Consulting Engineers South Africa (Cesa) on Tuesday announced that its CEO Lefadi Makibinyane had resigned and would be serving his notice until the end of January.
Cesa president Abe Thela said the resignation was “unexpected” and acknowledged Makibinyane’s contribution to the organisation. “We wish him well in his future endeavours,” he added.
A new CEO would be chosen during the next board meeting, but the role of acting CEO would be filled by Wally Mayne.
Makibinyane would now serve as the new CEO of State-owned enterprise Amatola Water. He stated that it was not an “easy decision”, but after all considerations put before him, he found it to be the most optimal decision to make at this moment in his professional career.
Makibinyane thanked Cesa for the opportunity and support it gave him over the past 18 months of his tenure, wishing the industry body and the sector it represented luck going forward.
