BMW’s Abbott takes on mantle of Naamsa president

The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) has elected BMW Group South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa CEO Tim Abbott as its new president.

He will serve a two-year term.

He takes over from Toyota South Africa Motors CEO Andrew Kirby.

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa MD Neale Hill has been appointed VP from the ranks of Naamsa’s vehicle manufacturer members, with Kia Motors South Africa CEO Gary Scott elected VP from the ranks of the association’s independent vehicle importers and distributors.
