Anixas power station project, Namibia.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of a new power station at Walvis Bay. The station will produce 21,5 MW, using diesel-powered generator sets and will provide additional power to the fast-growing uranium-mining sector on the Namibian west coast.

Value
The total cost of the project has not been stated. However, the engineering, procurement, construction and turnkey (EPCT) contract is valued at R250-million.

Duration
Construction will start immediately, with commissioning expected in December 2010.
