The construction division of minerals processing projects specialist Applied Mineral Technologies (Amtec) is an integral part of the offering that the company has to offer.

Not only is this division the largest in the company, it is probably the most important, as no project can be undertaken without the manpower and expertise that this division brings to the table.

Amtec’s construction division comprises many facets required in the completion of a project. From rigging to safety, Amtec prides itself on the delivery capacity of its construction division. The informal slogan of this division has always been “on site and on time”. To date, Amtec’s construction division has never been penalised for late completion on any project.

Further, as construction is – by its very nature – a dangerous occupation, the Amtec construction department works closely with its safety department. In August 2014, the company celebrated 1.3-million lost-time injury-free hours. These statistics were achieved between 2008 – when the division was established – and 2014.

Amtec’s construction team continues to surprise and impress clients in the way that it tackles and executes tasks. The company has, on several occasions, been complimented on the manner in which its construction team approaches projects.

Moreover, the division – which offers clients a full spectrum of construction specialists, including boilermakers, fitters, riggers, piping specialists and operators – also has the ability to undertake complex rigging and equipment installation projects and to install high-density polyethylene pipes for overland applications, as well as plant applications.

Amtec is especially proficient and experienced in brownfield, civil, piping and shutdown construction activities, having successfully undertaken many difficult projects.

Located at 4 Willow Crescent, Die Heuwel, in eMalahleni, Amtec has a staff complement of more than 200 people.
