The Chemical and Allied Industries’ Association (CAIA) is proudly participating and exhibiting at the 2017 Manufacturing Indaba Conference and Exhibition on 27-28 June this year.

The CAIA team will be there, representing the chemical industry as an endorsing partner, and we invite all our members to participate in this leading manufacturing event, says CAIA Executive Director Deidré Penfold.

“CAIA launched Responsible Care® in South Africa in 1994 to respond to public concerns about the manufacture, storage, transport, use and disposal of chemicals, and as an endorsing partner at the 2017 Manufacturing Indaba we will focus on promoting Responsible Care® and to monitor its implementation”, says Penfold.

“CAIA’s members have a proud record in terms of Responsible Care®, striving to ‘do the right thing, even when no one is looking’. They innovate for safer and greener products and processes and work to continuously improve their environmental, health and safety performance.

“The Responsible Care® initiative is essential in the reduction and elimination of risks and to the implementation of sustainable development. In terms of international trade and the standards demanded regarding safety, health and environmental practices, it is a strategy for survival and growth, and for maintaining a competitive advantage,” says Penfold.

The 2017 Manufacturing Indaba has specific aims that will benefit the chemical as well as other manufacturing industries. The event will bring together bring together business owners, industry leaders, government officials, capital providers and professional experts to explore opportunities and grow their manufacturing operations.

The most important manufacturing event of the year, the 4th Manufacturing Indaba Conference and Exhibition, is taking place from 27-28 June 2017 at Emperors Palace, Ekurhuleni, South Africa.

The CAIA team is looking forward to representing the chemical industry at the 2017 Manufacturing Indaba Conference and Exhibition.
