Company Announcement - Each year, more than 60,000 buses roll off the line of Yutong's factory in the city of Zhengzhou. This figure makes the Chinese company the largest bus manufacturer in the world, with buses operating in over 120 countries and with a market share of more than 30% of the sector in China. Yutong, which allocates around 4% of its annual budget to innovation, has chosen Lantek to make its production system more efficient, incorporating Lantek Expert for its laser, plasma, and shearing machines. “At Yutong, an advanced nesting algorithm has been implemented to optimize its shearing process. It maximizes the efficiency of the machine process and the use of material. To achieve this improvement, complex preliminary calculations were done before the nesting to establish the optimal sheet size and the best part placement strategy to reduce changes in the orientation of the sheet,” explains Mr. Liu, head of Lantek China in Shanghai.
Through this partnership, Lantek, an international leader in the development and sale of CAD/CAM/MES/ERP software solutions for the metal industry and the machine tool sector, has become one of the suppliers of this Chinese multinational, which manufactures 310 buses daily and 145 different models. According to Joseba Pagaldai, Lantek's Commercial Director, "Yutong's trust is an important milestone for our company and solidifies its international development in a sector as strategic as automotive in one of the world's largest economies. This sale also reflects one of our main competitive advantages, the customized adaptation of our services to the needs of each client."
