Wuxi Turbine Blade in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China, has commissioned an SPKA 11200 screw press upgraded by SMS Meer www.sms-meer.com , Germany, in just seven months.
After erection at the new location, the spindle and the tie-rods were replaced. Wuxi can now reliably and safely produce workpieces for the manufacture of high-quality turbine blades on the machine again. “Following the modernization, the press is now state-of-the-art,” says Mo Jianqiang, Deputy Director and Senior Engineer Forging Equip-ment at WTB. “When we order something from SMS Meer, we can be sure of receiving the demanded quality within the agreed time.” Wuxi originally commissioned the clutch-driven forging press in 1994. The press has a hard-on-hard blow force of 180 MN. Production had to be relocated as a new residential area is to be built at the Wuxi company location. Together with the SPKA 11200, SMS Meer also relocated an HSPRZ 630 hydraulic screw press.
