Leading engineering and design company WSP, which employs 17 000 across the globe – 650 of them in Africa – works across the property, transport, infrastructure, industrial, environmental, energy and mining sectors. Its clients include both private-sector companies and the national and regional tiers of government, covering the full life cycle of their projects.

The expertise of the group, which operates in 35 countries, ranges from land remediation to urban planning, engineering iconic buildings, designing sustainable transport networks, developing the energy sources of the future and enabling new ways of extracting minerals.

The company’s South African head office is at 199 Bryanston drive, north of the Johannesburg central business district. The South African subsidiary is 74%-owned by WSP Global, with the balance held by Newssheft 969.

During the last year, the company, which is ISO9001:2008 accredited, undertook projects for major clients such as financial services group FNB, transport logistics parastatal Transnet, sugar company Illovo and brewing giant SABMiller.
