The World Bank’s Rapid Support Framework Programme that provides PPP advisory support to identified African countries has appointed a consortium led by Genesis Analytics as an approved adviser.

The Genesis consortium was awarded the contract to carry out a diagnostic study of Zambia’s PPP readiness and develop a pipeline of projects that can be taken through to implementation.

The project entails a detailed review of the country’s legislative, regulatory and institutional policies and frameworks to identify gaps and make recommendations that can be used by the PPP unit.

Genesis will also oversee the financial work stream. This requires a rigorous analysis into Zambia's financial institutions to determine the availability of funds to both potential local and foreign investors.

“The detailed analysis will feed into the prioritisation of projects that have the potential to attract private sector investment, and thus should proceed to a more detailed feasibility," said Malcolm Pautz, principal of the Infrastructure and PPP Advisory practice at Genesis.
