Name and Location
Woodfibre liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, British Columbia, Canada.

Client
Woodfibre LNG, a subsidiary of Pacific Oil & Gas.

Project Description
The Woodfibre LNG project is a proposed small-scale LNG production, storage and marine-carrier transfer facility for the export of LNG. The project will be located about 7 km south-west of Squamish, British Columbia.

The project will be located on an existing industrial site, the former Woodfibre pulp mill, which is well suited to conversion to an LNG facility.

Natural gas will be delivered to the Woodfibre site through the existing and expanded FortisBC pipeline, where it will be liquefied and loaded into carriers for shipment.

The project is expected to export about 2.1-million tonnes of LNG a year.

Value
Not stated.

Duration
Based on the current project schedule, and subject to regulatory approvals, the project will begin construction in 2015 and be operational by 2017.

Latest Developments
The Linde Group has been awarded a contract to provide engineering and procurement services for a 2.1-million-tonne-a-year LNG plant for Woodfibre LNG.

The new plant will use Linde’s proprietary LIMUM(R) technology, a multistage mixed-refrigerant process that achieves outstanding energy efficiency.

Linde Engineering will be responsible for the extended basic engineering and the procurement and supply of critical equipment items, including the coil-wound heat exchangers.
