WoodEX for Africa, the only trade show in Africa dedicated exclusively to the timber and allied trades, is preparing to host a bumper edition show from 11-13 July 2018 at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, due not only to near-full bookings, but its incorporation of the Deck & Flooring Expo’s inaugural event.

WoodEX for Africa Organiser, Stephan Jooste, remarks, “We are delighted to report an upsurge in exhibitor bookings for the 2018 event and look forward to hosting a full house over the three-day event that promises visitors and exhibitors a unique stage for gaining insights, conducting business and making new contacts afore a backdrop of state-of-the-art timber- and woodworking-related equipment, machinery, tooling and services.”

“Further to this, we are proud to be launching the Deck & Flooring Expo, a brand that was established in response to an overwhelming call from the decking and flooring sectors in South Africa for an expo-type event that would offer tangible, one-on-one marketing opportunities for exhibitors, from manufacturers right the way to contractors, to connect with one another and their customers,” Jooste remarks. “Flooring and decking occupy most of our living, working and play places; it is pervasive, so close to the everyday human experience and people are really drawn to touching and experiencing the materials they will use for their decking and flooring. This is one of the reasons we felt it was essential to create the space for users, makers and installers of beautiful and functional decking and flooring to connect,” he adds.

“We are also pleased to welcome all our new exhibitors, among whom are Geerlings, Harris Sawing Equipment, Nukor, Rhino Band Sawmills and WoodTech Mechatronics, on board WoodEX for Africa 2018 and, hand in hand with our valued exhibitors and partners, look forward to making the show’s fifth instalment a memorable success.”

Geerlings

Having exhibited at every WoodEX for Africa event since the show’s debut in 2012, Geerlings will be showcasing products from the Italian brand they have represented for over two decades and who are leaders in secondary woodworking machinery, SCM, at the 2018 show. Visitors can look forward to a showing of panel processing machines and access to on-site insights from leaders in the field.

Geerlings have been operating in the woodworking sector for more than 50 years and sell both traditional (single-function) and advanced (multi-function) Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery as well as tool and dust extraction equipment. The business, which has now moved to its new premises with a large tiled showroom at 32 Ontdekkers Road in Roodepoort, also boasts a wide range of second-hand light and heavy industrial machinery, and also comes with professional expertise in the aluminium market.
