West Nile Delta development project, Egypt
Name of the Project
West Nile Delta development project.
Location
The project is located in Egypt and includes five gasfields across the North Alexandria and West Mediterranean deep-water offshore concession blocks.
Client
BP (82.75%); DEA Deutsche Erdoel (17.25%).
Project Description
The project is being developed as two separate projects to enable BP and its partners to accelerate gas production to Egypt.
The first project, comprising the Taurus and Libra fields, was fast-tracked in 2015 to allow for the delivery of an average of more than 600-million standard cubic feet of gas a day.
The project is a subsea greenfield development, including six wells in Taurus and three in Libra, and a 42 km tie-back to the existing onshore processing facility where gas enters the Egyptian national grid through a nearby export pipeline.
The fields are producing more than 700-million standard cubic feet of gas a day and a 1 000 bbl/d of condensate, which is 20% higher than the planned sales plateau.
The second project involves the development of the Giza, Fayoum and Raven fields.
The project will involve 12 wells and two deep-water, long-distance subsea tie-backs to the shore.
Fluids will be processed through an onshore plant modified for Giza and Fayoum, and integrated with a new adjacent onshore plant for Raven.
