JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Coal producer Wescoal’s Elandspruit mine, in Mpumalanga, has delivered its first batch of coal to customers after it was processed at Wescoal’s nearby beneficiation plant.

“The beneficiated product was in line with expectations and sales to customers in the domestic and export markets have started,” the company noted in a statement on Wednesday.

Wescoal’s mining division was on track to produce about 335 000 t/m of run-of-mine (RoM) coal during the final quarter of the current financial year, equating to four-million tons of RoM product a year.
