Join Creamer Media for another riveting webinar in the ESG Africa Conference series in the lead up to the conference on October 1 and 2. Experts will explore the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and how it impacts on African businesses, as well as explain potential risk mitigation measures on June 5 at 14:00.

The EU has started implementing its CBAM instrument. Climate Change is one of the biggest challenges facing the world and government and businesses are grappling with how to address the risks and opportunities it brings. The EU is phasing in implementation, but the expectation is that it will widen and ramp up over time, in-line with the EU Emissions Trading System. Many African countries are exporting into the EU and so there is concern about the impact of this tax on African economies, which are already under pressure in terms of resilience and the future decline of fossil fuel exports.
