The projects are expected to be located in north-west Europe and in the Gulf Coast of the US.

Project Description
Dimeta and Enerkem are the first companies in the world to produce biomethanol from mixed waste at commercial scale.

The companies are starting feasibility studies for the development of two large-scale projects, which will convert waste into renewable and recycled DME. DME is a clean-burning fuel that can support decarbonisation of the off-grid energy sector, including heating, cooking, transport and industrial applications.

Each project is expected to produce about 165 000 t/y of renewable and recycled carbon DME from mixed residual waste.
