Ukhta – Torzhok-2 gas pipeline project, Russia.

Client
Gazprom, BASF, E.ON, Engie, OMW and Shell.

Project Description
Gazprom, BASF, E.ON, Engie, OMW and Shell entered into the Shareholders Agreement in September 2015 to build the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline system, with a capacity of 55-billion cubic meters a year, from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea.

To deliver natural gas to Nord Stream 2, a new gas transmission infrastructure has to be built within the Unified Gas Supply System of Russia (UGSS). The UGSS represents a unique engineering complex encompassing gas production, processing, transmission, storage and distribution facilities in European Russia and Western Siberia.

The Ukhta – Torzhok-2 gas pipeline project will ensure the delivery of the required gas volumes to north-western Russia for domestic consumption and export purposes.

The pipeline will be about 970 km long and will have a design capacity of 45-billion cubic metres a year.

Eight compressor stations with an aggregate capacity of 689 MW will be built along the gas pipeline route.
