UCT Short Online Course: Financial modelling for utility tariff setting in Africa

Power Futures Lab at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business will be hosting a Financial Modelling for Utility Tariff Setting online short course from 23 August - 3 September 2021.

This specialised course is designed to provide core skills for utility tariff setting in a regulated context and is specifically suited for managers, senior professionals, and advisors working in African regulatory authorities, government departments, power utilities, development finance institutions and the private sector. Anchored by leading international and local professionals, the course will take participants through modelling fundamentals for tariff setting, facilitated through a series of online lectures, pre-recorded videos, live and offline exercises, and selected readings. Course participants will be guided in the construction of a robust financial model for determining the required utility revenues and tariffs.

This year's course format is specifically structured to allow professionals to attend live online lectures in the afternoons. Please see the course programme for more details.

Due to the online course format, 2021  fees have been reduced by 50%. Discounted rates are also available for three or more participants from the same institution, as well as for GSB alumni.
