Name of the Project
Trell and Trine oilfield development.

Location
About 24 km east of the Alvheim floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, in the Heimdal area of the North Sea, off the shore of Norway.

Project Owner/s
The two fields are jointly owned by Aker BP (48.42%), Petoro (26.84%), ABP Norway (12.84%) and Lotos Exploration and Production Norge (11.9%).

Project Description
Recoverable resources in Trell and Trine are estimated at 25-million barrels of oil equivalent and will produce very low emissions, estimated at 0.3 kg carbon dioxide per barrel.

The oilfield project is planned as a subsea tieback to existing field developments linked to the Alvheim FPSO operation, which has been operating since 2008. AkerBP hopes to produce one-billion barrels through the FPSO using new wells and tie-ins, such as the Trell and Trine fields, thereby extending the life of the Alvheim field.

The field development plan proposes one production well each at Trell Nord, Trell and Trine.

The subsea system will include three horizontal subsea trees, two manifolds, control systems, 30 km of subsea umbilicals and accompanying equipment. The wells are proposed to be drilled by a sixth-generation semisubmersible drilling rig. Installation of equipment for seabed leak detection is also included in the plans.

The project has 16-year operational life.

Planned Start/End Date
