Training provider Alusani Skills & Training Network reports that it offers over 150 courses in 19 different topic areas to assist various industries in improving the skills of their staff.
The company also reports that it ran 189 courses in 2011.
Alusani MD Imogen Tarita says the courses are scheduled throughout the year and are held in professional training facilities throughout South Africa, as well as in Zambia and Namibia.
Course topics include construction, maintenance and engineering, procurement and supply chain, project management, leadership and management development, computer and information technology skills, supervisory and team management skills and communication skills.
“We also offer on-site or in-house training, which is often a more economical and convenient training solution for companies that have eight or more course participants. All our courses can be supplied off-the-shelf, or can be customised to meet the specific needs of a company,” states Tarita.
The courses run for two or three days and classes range from 20 to 30 course participants, depending on the course.
Alusani says it also insists on providing practical experience for course participants. The com- pany selects highly qualified course leaders, who employ a balance of expert knowledge and practical experience in their relevant fields to teach the course participants.
Alusani has been offering continued professional development-accredited training courses to engineers for almost six years.
“We assist course participants in improving every aspect of their performance by offering theoreti- cal knowledge and tools and techniques in a range of technical and nontechnical business areas. Our highly interactive and practical approach to training enables participants to apply their new skills on the job immediately,” states Tarita.
The company also offers post-course support to assist in the transitioning from training to work.
This support takes the form of monthly emails for 12 months following the initial course, which includes reminders about specific course content, bonus material or email access to course leaders to clarify specific course content.
