Toshiba Machine EU will present LIVE demonstrations showing manufacturers how they can mold and assemble complex, multi-material parts with precision and ease in an integrated automation cell requiring minimal floor space.

Featuring the EC180SXII, a 1760-kN (200 US ton) all-electric injection molding machine, the LIVE demos will be held at Toshiba’s Booth #C55 in Hall 15 throughout K2016 at the Düsseldorf, Germany Trade Fair Center, October 19-26.

“To stay competitive, manufacturers in Europe and North America are continually looking for ways to maximize productivity in less floor space than ever before,” said Kazuo (Kazz) Takamura, Managing Executive Officer of Toshiba Machine Japan and General Manager of Toshiba Machine’s Europe & the Americas Region. “This demo will show them how they can get the capabilities of a small factory by investing in a compact, turnkey automation solution from Toshiba Machine.”

At the demo, manufacturers will see the EC180SXII combined with Mold-Master’s E-Multi auxiliary injection unit to produce two different parts in different colors. Two industrial robots from Toshiba Machine – the TV1000H and TVL700 vertical articulated robots – will then pick up and assemble parts into miniature EC-SXII machine giveaways. Ideal for automotive, medical, packaging and other applications, the new automation cell is available as a complete package to European customers from Toshiba Machine EU in Milton Keynes, UK, and to North American customers from Toshiba Machine America in Elk Grove Village, IL.

From molding to assembly, the entire cell is monitored by a single controller – the V50 built into the EC180SXII. To showcase the V50’s capabilities, Toshiba will be remotely monitoring a second machine – their 1270-kN (140 US ton) EC130SXII – as it molds and labels Frisbees in a LIVE demo at Star Automaton’s Booth #G74 in Hall 11.
