Project Description
The project entails the construction of reception, unloading and bunkering facilities, an LNG vapourising facility and one 50 000 m3 storage tank in the Tornio terminal.
For gas deliveries, a pipeline will be built to the Röyttä industrial site.
In addition, a truck loading facility for LNG trucks will be built.
The storage tank and the new terminal will be the largest LNG receiving terminal in the Nordic region.
The LNG will be delivered by trucks or by railroad from Tornio terminal to customer terminals and consumption destinations in northern Finland and Sweden.

Latest Developments
Wärtsilä achieved mechanical completion of the terminal on August 18.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work included complete ship unloading, full containment LNG storage, LNG truck loading, ship bunkering, regasification and natural gas send-out facilities.
The EPC delivery is backed by a ten-year maintenance contract for Wärtsilä to provide services related to the needs of the terminal.
The next major step for the project is expected to take place in November, when the first shipment of LNG is scheduled to arrive.
