TNPA to reissue Cape Town cruise terminal tender
Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) announced earlier this month that there were no successful responses to the request for proposals (RFP) for a tender to develop a cruise terminal at the Cape Town port.
Consequently, TNPAdecided not to award the tender to any of the bidders.
“Owing to the strategic importance of the facility for the country, the province and the city of Cape Town, TNPA will reissue the RFP by way of public notice to allow interested parties to participate in the process,” it said in a statement.
In May, the State logistics group announced its master plan for the development of South Africa’s ports, which included proposed terminals for cruise liners at the ports, in Cape Town and Durban.
