Industrial gas and welding products group Afrox has started the search for a new MD, after Tjaart Kruger announced his resignation on Thursday.
Kruger, who took over the reigns in 2007, would step down in the third quarter, the JSE-listed company said.
“Kruger made a valuable contribution to Afrox, playing a key role in its reorganisation and modernisation to reflect the realities of doing business in today’s challenging economic environment,” the group said in a statement.
Afrox said earlier this year that it believed 2011 would be its “comeback” year, as the group had implemented a number of operational and structural changes, aimed at cutting costs and securing supply.
It expects margins to recover to pre-economic crisis level by 2012.
