Thor offshore wind power plant.

Location
Danish North Sea, about 22 km from Thorsminde, on the west coast of Jutland, in Denmark.

Project Owner/s
RWE Renewables.

Project Description
Thor will be Denmark’s biggest offshore wind power plant to date and will be able to supply electricity to about one-million households.

Seventy-two offshore wind turbines are planned to be installed at the proposed 1 000 MW plant.

For the operation and maintenance of the power plant, RWE will establish a service base at the port of Thorsminde.

The installation works are planned to be carried out from the Port of Esbjerg, in Denmark.

Potential Job Creation
The project is expected to create up to 60 permanent jobs.

Capital Expenditure
Total investment costs have been estimated at about DKr 15.5-billion.

Planned Start/End Date
Installation of the turbines at sea is expected to start in 2026. The project is expected to be fully operational by no later than the end of 2027.

Latest Developments
The project is subject to RWE’s final investment decision.
